Santo Remedio

Our Rating: ★★ | ££

Santo Remedio in London offers a vibrant trip to the heart of Mexico. In a city teeming with culinary diversity, Santo Remedio shines with its unique blend of traditional Mexican flavours and contemporary creativity.

Immediately captivating us upon our arrival was the restaurant's aesthetic appeal. The interior exudes a colourful and bright vibe, instilling the atmosphere with a palpable sense of joie de vivre. The enthusiasm of Santo Remedio's service was equally engaging, with the staff showcasing a congeniality that further enhanced our dining experience.

One of the key highlights of our dining journey was the selection of tacos. The prawn tacos and Baja fish tacos were nothing short of incredible. Each bite immersed us in a sensory world of rich flavours, their tantalising tastes lingering long after we finished. While the chicken tacos seemed enticing on the menu, they proved somewhat disappointing as they were a tad too dry and lacked the captivating quality we found in the other taco offerings.

For an extra touch of magic, we recommend the tuna sashimi tostada - our hands-down favourite dish of the evening. The balance of texture and flavour was simply sublime, a testament to Santo Remedio's culinary prowess.

For the perfect sweet ending, the chocolate tart is a must-try. Rich, indulgent, and balanced, it served as the perfect capstone to our meal.

How much to order

Each dish comes in servings of two, making it an ideal spot for sharing a meal with friends or loved ones. From our experience, 3 servings, coupled with a side and a shared dessert, is enough for a nice meal.

Drinks

The spicy margaritas showcased an impressive range of flavours, working harmoniously with the bold taste profiles of the dishes. And we warn you; they are spicy!

If you're an agave aficionado, the selection of tequila and mezcal will not disappoint.

Which location to choose?

Santo Remedio in London Bridge has a more extensive menu, and you must book ahead for a table. The Shoreditch location holds some tables for walk-ins but is missing the following items from the menu:

  • Make your own tacos (large sharing portions of Lamb Shank, Seabass and Short rib)

  • Churros con cajeta

  • Some of the sides and small plates are different

Overall

All in all, Santo Remedio offers a dynamic and genuine taste of Mexico, from the cheerful colours of its interiors to the vibrant flavours on its plates. It's a place that captures the spirit and vivacity of Mexican cuisine, making it a must-visit destination for taco lovers.
