A cute viby taverna in the heart of Dulwich, London

Tucked away on a quiet street, Evi’s brings a slice of the Aegean to the neighbourhood with its cosy taverna vibes and seriously good food. The space is small and intimate, with a laid-back charm. Perfect for a midweek dinner or somewhere you could easily become a regular.

The drinks are a highlight in their own right. The Spicy Marg is a fiery twist on the classic, while the Negroni is well-balanced and satisfying, strong without being overwhelming.

What we ate

Grilled pita bread
Tyrokafteri (Spicy feta and charred pepper dip)

Kotopoulo Psito (Slow-grilled chicken thighs, mustard mayo sauce)
Mosharisia Brizola (Onglet steak, olives and herb relish)
Kolokythokeftedes (Courgette, feta and herb fritters)

From the food, the pita bread is a great way to kick things off – warm, pillowy bread with delicious dips.

Mains didn’t disappoint either. The onglet was cooked beautifully, tender and full of flavour, paired with what tasted like a chimichurri-style oil that brought it all together. The chicken was just as good – juicy, with a lovely hit of fenugreek that gave it a unique twist. And the fritters? Oozy, rich, and completely indulgent.

What really makes Evi’s special is the team. Attentive, kind, and genuinely warm – it feels like you’ve been welcomed into someone’s home. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t try too hard but gets everything right.

If you’re after somewhere with heart, great food, and a proper Greek taverna feel, Evi’s hits the mark.
