Shanty - Portrush

Our Rating: ★★ | ££££ - Okay for a lunch or quick stop (How we rate restaurants)

Perched on the rugged Northern Irish coast in the seaside town of Portrush, Shanty is a modern seafood restaurant with sweeping sea views and a relaxed atmosphere.

What we thought

Overall, the food at Shanty was nice; however, for the price point, we think it lacked a bit of refinement that you would expect for a nice dinner.

The Sole was slightly overdone, the onion rings portion was huge and the batter was heavy.

We absolutely loved the smashed potatoes, especially the honey chilli ones.

The service was also brilliant.

Overall, we think Shanty is a good stop if you're at the coast and want something easy for lunch with a view, but we wouldn’t book a table and visit there specially for a dinner.
