The Best Tacos in London
The UK has a bad reputation for its food, which we can understand. But when it comes to a wide variety of high-quality global cuisine, London is second to none!
Tacos don’t have the cult following here compared to places like New York. But after spending 1 month in NYC and 5 weeks in Mexico last year, we thought we had to compile our list of the best Tacos in London. And, to our surprise, there are quite a few amazing options to choose from.
Just in case you’re interested:
London Taco List
El Pastor - London Bridge | Soho | King’s Cross | Battersea Power Station
Santo Remedio - London Bridge | Shoreditch
La Chingado - Surrey Quays | Euston
Tacos Padre - Borough Market
Tiger Tacos - London Bridge | Clerkenwell | Dalston
Taca Tacos - Peckham | Deptford | Brockley market (Saturdays)
CDMX Tacos - Soho
El Pastor
London Bridge | Soho | King’s Cross | Battersea Power Station
With several locations across London, El Pastor is a testament to the owners’ decade in Mexico City running a nightclub. Drawing inspiration from CDMX’s lively streets, Tacos El Pastor has a lively vibe serving up tacos, tostadas, quesadillas, mezcal and tequila.
Santo Remedio
London Bridge | Shoreditch
Santo Remdio has a lighter and more relaxed vibe to it compared to El Pastor and we feel like it’s more reminiscent of a coastal taqueria as opposed to one from Mexico City. It’s colourful and vibrant and the Baja-style fish taco and tuna sashimi tostada were our favourite dishes.
The London Bridge location has a more extensive menu with the option of larger sharing plates. You must book ahead to get a table. The Shoreditch spot has some tables free for walk-ins and has more of a Mexican café vibe to it.

La Chingada
Surrey Quays | Euston
A hidden gem that prides itself on serving authentic Mexican street food. La chingada might be small in size, but it's big in taste and gives off a true authentic taqueria vibe.
The tacos are simple, focusing on high-quality ingredients and traditional recipes and the Chicken Tinga tostada was one of our favourites.
Tacos Padre
Borough Market
Tacos Padre serves up a fusion of traditional flavours and contemporary twists at it’s counter in Borough Market. The outdoor seating, buzzing with the market's energy, sets the perfect backdrop for enjoying their signature tacos, such as the Barbacoa and the fish taco, which are nothing short of spectacular.
Tiger Tacos
London Bridge | Clerkenwell | Dalston
We first tried Tager Tacos whilst going for a post-work drink at Nine Lives in London Bridge and were blown away by how amazing the tacos were. During COVID, they were serving them from a truck outside but now you can book a table at Nive Lives and enjoy your Tacos with a cocktail.
The other 2 branches are also located in bars (The Hacha and The Gunmakers)
Taca Tacos
Peckham | Deptford | Brockley market (Saturdays)
A small Taqueria in Packham with a small garden at the back. We came here and tried their Birria combo and honestly, it was so close to what we experienced in Mexico City. The Broth had great flavour, the tacos smelt like corn and the beef was juicy and succulent.
CDMX Tacos
Soho
A small taqueria in Soho with standing space only. They serve authentic corn tortillas with beef, pork and cactus fillings. We’ve included them in this list since they do an excellent job of replicating an authentic Mexican experience, but in all honesty, the food was below par for the price you pay.
It's worth popping in if you’re in the area, but it's not worth a special trip to eat there.
